Real estate is a profession where your email reputation is critical, which is why Wise Agent works hard to ensure you maintain a positive one. We are continually making updates, so your emails are going to people who want to read them, and in turn, you retain a sparkly clean email reputation.

What Is An Opt-In and Why Do I Want One?

An email opt-in is when a contact explicitly chooses to receive your emails. It can feel like opt-ins are limiting who you can reach, but in reality, it is helping you reach the people who want to receive your content and skipping the people who don’t.

In today’s digital world, people are selective about what they want to see in their inbox. For one, with so many scams and viruses, many consumers won’t open emails unless they know who sent them. Additionally, suppose contacts get annoyed by how many emails they receive from you. In that case, they may mark them as spam, which will negatively impact your email reputation and make it more challenging to deliver future emails.

Without an opt-in, over time, your email reputation will feel the consequences. Your email reputation will plummet with emails going unopened, being deleted, or being sent to the spam folder. A low email reputation will negatively affect your ability to reach new leads and even established clients. Emailing to contacts who have opted in will provide you with better results than continuously sending mass emails that sit unopened.

Actions That Act As An Opt-In

If you send a potential lead to one of your landing pages after filling out their information, you can inform them to be on the lookout for an email from you. That way, when they receive the automated email from your Wise Agent lead rules, just by opening it, they will have automatically opted in!

There are a few additional actions your leads may take that automatically opt them into your email list. For contacts being synced or manually entered: Your contact(s) will need to open at least 2 out of 24 emails in order to be "opted in". For contacts that were imported from a CSV file: Your contact(s) will need to open at least 2 out of 9 emails in order to be "opted in".

If you have contacts who are opted out of your emails because they don’t open enough or never opted in, you can always send a single email to just that person asking them to opt-in to your email communications. The opt-in method of emailing doesn’t prevent you from emailing them at all, only emailing them in a bulk thread.

How Can I Tell Which Contacts Have Opted In?

At any time, you can see the opt-in status of your contacts through the Contact Summary page of each contact and search by status in the Advanced Filters on the Contact List.
